Built with a die-cast aluminum frame and a machined aluminum spool for strength. Recessed reel foot and deep anodized stamped side plates help inhibit corrosion in a saltwater environment. The reel’s responsiveness lies in Shimano’s Super Stopper as well as a high 5.8:1 gear ratio perfectly suited to fish lures such as worms or jigs which require a high-speed retrieve. Control over backlashes and free spool is complete thanks to Shimano’s Variable Brake System (VBS). VBS is easily accessible on the right side-plate, allowing you to adjust your brake weights quickly without removing the spool
